About This Spot

Stepping into Diane’s Diner, you’re welcomed by an unhurried, genuine Southern charm that feels like a well-kept secret in the heart of Marion. It’s the kind of local eatery where the pace slows just a touch, and the air hums with quiet conversations, the clinking of plates, and the comforting rhythm of familiar footsteps. This is a spot where neighbors meet, stories unfold, and every visit feels like dropping in on an old friend’s kitchen table.

The atmosphere here is warm and approachable, a true reflection of Marion’s easygoing spirit. Surrounded by simple, no-frills décor, Diane’s invites you to settle in and savor the kind of meals that bring people together. The menu leans into hearty, home-style cooking crafted with care—think thick, juicy burgers that don’t shy away from being just the right size for sharing, and sides that manage to feel both indulgent and comforting. Whether it’s the sweet crunch of loaded tots or the satisfying heft of a plate stacked with slow-smoked BBQ, each dish seems designed to evoke memories and create new ones.

More than just the food, Diane’s shines through the thoughtful touches from its team—a friendly welcome at the door, attentive service where you never feel rushed, and an understanding of what makes a meal here more than just nourishment. It’s these human moments that transform a diner experience into something quietly memorable, where the focus is on connection as much as the food itself.

A small diner with very good food. I had the fried shrimp (slightly over cooked but delicious), Cole slaw (good) and the biggest onion rings that I have ever seen. There was a 25 minute wait after our order was put in but this is not a fast food restaurant.

I've ate here several times and enjoyed the hot bar with their home style cooking very much. Tired of those skinny pieces of meat in your burgers at most fast food places? Get a hamburger or cheeseburger here and you'll find a big, thick burger prepared anyway you like it. She'll even cut in in half for easier handling or sharing! Personally I come here for the quality and taste of the food. As long as I had a table and chair, I could care less if there's candles on the table. Some have mentioned atmosphere, but that doesn't make good food, IMHO. The diner gets an "A" from me.

Love this place. It's a hole in the wall. But perfect. We visit ever time we are in town . Simply diner food made well

The best service and food! Let me tell you, my sister and I drove many miles to try this particular diner based on the reviews. It wasn't pretty on the outside, but on the inside was a completely different piece! The service was perfect! Friendly, not too much, not too little. Just perfect. Now let's get to the food! Flavorful, seasoned just right, and perfectly cooked. My friends double meat burger was very jucy. Let's get to the portions now. OMG, my sister got lost in her double patty cheeseburger. It took me forever to find her. I finally heard her muffled voice between the double patty meat. Seriously though, it was pretty big. We ordered a side of smothered tots and fried pickles. The portions were huge! Could easily feed two people, could feed four people as well. In fact my sister and I had left over enough for a meal for 3 more people! The burger patty was like handmade or something. Honestly the best service and food I've ever had. A great vibe, like a hometown diner feel. They all seemed to know each other too. I'll definitely go back.

Was just passing through on a weekend roadtrip and stumbled upon this gem ! We were offered the hot bar lunch which looked tempting with the fresh fried chicken but we wanted to try the cheeseburger. If you order the double like we did, you better be hungry! Grab you a pile of napkins because you will need them! Food was amazing and the staff was equally great .
